Krista D. Murr, 55, was charged after investigators uncovered financial discrepancies spanning from July 2017 to July 2024, according to police.
The investigation began on July 22, 2024, when concerns were raised about irregularities in financial records and fund management. Working with the Franklin County District Attorney's Office, police discovered that $148,292.56 had been misappropriated, authorities said.
“Our department is committed to maintaining transparency and the highest standards of accountability. We take these allegations seriously and have acted swiftly to address this matter,” Chief Jason T. Batistig said in a statement.
Murr is charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking, Theft by Deception, Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition, and Forgery, police said.
The charges were formally filed on Dec. 11, 2024, at the office of District Justice Duane K. Cunningham, authorities said.
